Winter Walking in the Alps

Spread the love
12 Years ago, when I first started guiding in Italy, the film clip below, made up of trip photo’s, advertised my first attempt at a website. Since then I have evolved (learning that using my surname sent many people to websites showing animals being shot. Certainly not something i was happy about!). Over that time my trips have evolved too, learning from the groups I took into the wilderness, what it was that they wanted to experience. Different age groups generally wanted to achieve different things.
Younger groups tended to focus on the physical challenge of height gain and distance, reaching a distant summit in a fast time.
Older clients seemed to focus on a more relaxed physical target, instead opting for more ‘savour the moment at a view point, learning more about the culture of the environment they were in, a leisurely lunch in an alpine hut enjoying local recipes.
And so I have now adapted the winter experiences on offer to try and better suite my clients expectations. Alpine Walks now offers 2 different graded trips, one that focuses on less physical exertion, but at the same time ticks all the boxes in terms of activity, views, culture and food. If this sounds appealing to you then please visit our page: Austrian Snowshoe Walks – Easy Grade
If you would prefer a more physically demanding trip then please visit our page: Austrian Snowshoe Walks – Active Grade
